The AIYEP Indonesian group will be hosted in New South Wales from mid October to mid December 2013.
Following their orientation, they spend three weeks in the capital city of Sydney then have a mid-visit break on the NSW coast (final location to be confirmed). This is followed by three weeks in Kiama where they will gain a regional and rural perspective.
On the Indonesians' return to Sydney they will join their Australian counterparts for a joint orientation in readiness for departure to Jakarta in late December. They will then proceed to the selected Indonesian province of West Sumatra for the Indonesian phase of the exchange.
Among their activities In Indonesia they will become involved in a community development project during their village stay in Solok, followed by a mid-visit break (location to be confirmed) and city stay in Bukit Tinggi. The program concludes in mid-late February 2014.
Both the Australian and Indonesian participants have beckoning futures in industry, business and government as well as in fields such as education, health, environmental care and management, law, engineering, arts, the media, tourism and hospitality, and social and community development.
Their host families will receive an insight into the culture, customs and attitudes of their nearest neighbour while helping to promote the bilateral relationship on a personal level.
